Collaboration… More Like Change Everything For The Better
I’m new to the idea of using collaboration to better my sales and marketing craft. To help me, some of the Syndicom folks have offered up buzz phrases so I can truly understand what great collaboration means…
“It’s like LinkedIn with a purpose…”
“Good things happen when people connect…”
“It’s not like a sewing pattern, it takes work…”
“I love SpineConnect. It is better than my Game Boy for relaxing…”
Beyond the “buzz”, I’ve experienced a core brain-shift resulting from my adoption of the collaborative approach. So my own quotes on collaboration would be…
“Teamwork don’t seem work…”
“A little want of knowledge is the spark of collaboration…”
“Creative minds – collaborative commons…”
“If it don’t got collaboration, it don’t got jazz…”
OK, so a little cheesy, but like I said, I’ve adopted the core ideas of collaboration and I’m a little love struck with the concept.
I’m in wonder to this day as to how I’ve operated without fully embracing the ideas of collaboration. Sure, I’ve pretended to collaborate and I’ve used the word many times; however, because I didn’t REALLY advance the core principles I’ve been only “playing collaboration”. You see, I come from more of the cooperation corporation. You help each other, but your (your department’s, your division’s) goal is what matters; the part and not the whole once figured into my mind. Now, I’m more focused on how I foster collaboration in everything I do. My mind’s eye has shifted to seeing organizational elements as parts to nurturing them for collaborative results!
Thank you Syndicom!
