Collaboration Meets Its True Test With In-Depth Research

Spine surgeons involved on the www.SpineConnect.com network wanted to dig a little deeper and explore the emergence of internet based collaboration in surgical decision making and new technology training. This meant surveying SpineConnect users (Spine surgeons) to explore the impact of how www.SpineConnect.com changed their surgical plan or provided additional information in order to learn about and ultimately adopt new technologies.

The researchers surveyed the Active users and Educational users (passive users). Active user were described as those that post cases on the network, comment often and use www.SpineConnect.com as part of their decision-making process. Educational users were more likely to search the network for teaching cases or onces they were interested in learning more about. Similar questions were asked both users. These include:

The results of the research findings were striking, indeed! What’s more their research has caught the attention of not only the blogosphere, but also highly respected organizations. As such, their findings have been or will be presented at SpineWeek, NASS and LSRS.
