Syndicom Names Walker Thompson VP of Sales & Marketing
Experienced professional brings tireless energy and valuable knowledge to Syndicom
DURANGO, Colo. May 27, 2008 – Syndicom is pleased to introduce Walker Thompson as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Thompson is responsible for increasing recognition and interest in Syndicom while managing marketing programs, establishing vendor relationships and growing sales. Thompson’s background includes working with Mercury Payment Systems—a fast growing online payments company—where during his time as VP of Partnership Development the company experienced triple digit growth.
“If there is one attribute I bring to the table, it is energy,” said Thompson. “When I feel strongly about a project, business or cause, I do not give up. With that drive I have been fortunate to have great results with companies such as Mercury Payment Systems. I’m excited and looking forward to doing the same for Syndicom.”
Working with innovative and leading edge companies, web-based software programs and building customer relationships are career focuses for Thompson. While with Mercury Payment Systems, he was in charge of getting Point of Sale developers to integrate the MercuryPay platform into their companies, as well as creating the reseller channel program.
“At Mercury, I was responsible for growing the reseller channel, which provided restaurants online integrated payment transaction technology,” said Thompson. “My work at Mercury taught me the value of channel relations. When I left, we had established over 1200 reseller relationships and more than 10,000 restaurant clients.”
Thompson’s successes with Mercury Payment Systems, lead to working with The Magellan Network (provides innovative web-based software applications for restaurants) where he broadened his knowledge of bringing businesses and their targeted customers together. These experiences are factors that helped Scott Capdevielle, CEO of Syndicom, determine Thompson would be a valuable asset.
“We’re fortunate to welcome Walker to our team,” said Capdevielle. “He brings to the company key components needed to take us to the next level so that we will continue to reach and expand our goals with the ultimate objectives of knowledge share and saving lives.”
“Syndicom represents the best of where web 2.0 headed,” said Thompson. “This company is successfully combining customer relationship management (CRM), social networking and project management software into one interface for the medical industry and beyond. I’m extremely passionate about these business and community solutions, so you can only imagine how thrilled I am about working with Syndicom.”
Thompson earned his B.A. in English at the University of Oklahoma. He is a semi-pro mountain bike racer with team EVOMO and enjoys many other outdoor activities including running and rock climbing. Thompson resides in Durango with his wife, Christina Rinderle.
