Syndicom to Launch Online Community for DePuy Spine
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SYNDICOM TO LAUNCH ONLINE COMMUNITY FOR DEPUY SPINE
SpineShare collaborative community will host 1,000 sales representatives and surgical experts for leading medical device manufacturer
Durango, CO - September 6, 2007 - Syndicom, the premier developer of collaborative innovation networks, today announced that the company had finalized a one-year agreement with DePuy Spine, a Johnson & Johnson company. With this agreement, Syndicom has agreed to provide software and consulting services to develop and host SpineShare — an online community for approximately 1,000 DePuy Spine sales representatives and medical device experts. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
SpineShare is a Web-based service from Syndicom that allows sales reps to share their product knowledge, sales experiences, and product insights with their colleagues. Using Syndicom’s collaborative platform, sales representatives will have access to the latest information from their peers, so the representatives are then better able to help physicians integrate medical device technology into patient care plans.
“Building lively communities that foster collaboration and entrepreneurship is our company’s primary aim,” said Scott Capdevielle, CEO of Syndicom. “We’re excited to take the insights we’ve amassed while building online communities for physicians and apply it to SpineShare for DePuy Spine’s sales representatives. In doing so, DePuy will be able to create a more educated, better-informed sales force, simply by providing a feature-rich arena for sharing knowledge, mentoring and collaboration.”
Within SpineShare, Syndicom also offers Technology Fellowship programs for the advanced training of sales representatives in particular disciplines, such as deformity or Cervical, and for the in-depth study of specific medical devices and technologies. These Technology Fellowships are led by DePuy Spine’s most experienced sales representatives, in an effort to mentor and instill best practices among those who are less experienced in a particular practice area.
“As we’ve watched Syndicom’s communities become increasingly important to spine surgeons, we’ve also recognized the tremendous power that collaborative communities can wield in terms of accelerated learning and innovation on the manufacturing and sales side, too,” said Max Reinhardt, vice president of U.S. sales for DePuy Spine. “We’re looking forward to using SpineShare to drive knowledge sharing in our network of sales professionals in service of our strategic imperative of having the most educated sales force in the business, to provide value to healthcare professionals and to allow doctors to achieve better surgical outcomes for patients.”
