Syndicom Web 2.0 solution allows case collaboration on OsteoSponge

Syndicom, the creator of the Web 2.0 case collaboration platforms, SpineConnect.com and ArthoplastyConnect.com, announced a strategic partnership with Bacterin International Inc, an innovative biologic company and manufacturer of elutive bioactive coatings for medical devices. The alliance aims to implement a surgeon-to-surgeon online collaboration strategy for its surgeons to efficiently expedite their understanding of, and case discussions about OsteoSponge®, a unique graft material that revolutionizes the handling properties of bone through a proprietary process.

Syndicom presents Bacterin with a web-based solution that allows surgeons to collaborate on various applications and benefits of OsteoSponge® in a secure environment, promoting knowledge share and communication. “We recognized, after exploring some collaborative possibilities with Bacterin, that helping them generate case studies from their users would help leverage a knowledge resource they already have – their expert surgeons,” said Walker Thompson, Syndicom VP of Sales and Marketing.

“We feel there is great importance in allowing surgeons to discuss product and procedural experiences in an open forum,” said Molly Mason, Bacterin Director of Marketing. “Syndicom provides a great platform for this interaction to occur and we are pleased to support continuing product education among the surgical community.”

Syndicom’s platform utilizes Collaborative Knowledge Networks (CKNs) to allow communities of surgeons to interact virtually on complex cases while simultaneously supporting rapid, bi-directional information sharing. Based on a recent survey conducted on the SpineConnectTM community, 90% of active users agree that the ability to collaborate with their peers, using a dedicated website, has improved their ability to practice spinal surgery resulting in improved patient care.

Syndicom, Inc. provides an array of web-based tools that allow medical professionals, medical device manufacturers, and other professional communities to connect to solve problems in a timely, efficient and economical way. The company’s innovative platform ultimately allows medical companies the ability to leverage and extend the knowledge and skills of physicians in the development of new medical technologies and devices.
